Here at AJ Raefields, we have been flipping through stacks of vintage Vogue and Esquire magazines in search of unique advertisements displaying similar pieces of jewelry that we might have in stock. Look closely and you will notice the layered pendant chain necklace worn by the woman in this Chrysler Royal car advertisement. Why jewelry in this car ad? Isn’t this ad supposed to appeal to males? Why yes of course! However, the designer of this ad is demonstrating the desire to appeal to “as many people as possible” by placing a female in this image. Having a female in the ad definitely appeals to the male reader of this March 1971 edition of Esquire. By utilizing jewelry, women would also be drawn to this advertisement as well. This particular style chain is a layer pendant necklace. It is similar to many chain styles that our store sells quite often. Do you own any unique chain necklaces? Email us a picture of your jewelry. We’d love to share it with our readers!
