Miriam Haskell

We recently acquired a few pieces that we believe may be Miriam Haskell, however, they are unsigned.  If anyone has any ideas as to who may have designed these pieces, leave us a comment!  We have numbered the pictures to make it easy for you to comment on them.

1. We think this piece below is most likely Haskell. It is a fantastic beaded glass pin.

2. These are beauties, but they have suffered! Someone has cut off the clips or screwbacks and has done a horrible job of converting them to pierced. Haskell or not, these were lovely earrings.  The beads are painted, so this might be all wrong for Haskell.  Let us know what you think!

3. These have a Haskell feel to them, but we do not think that they are. They are awfully small to be a Haskell piece, but we’d love to know what you think!

I think #1 is Haskell because the back of the pieces are just like early Haskell. But I doubt if the other two are Haskell. But I am no expert.

According to my research in Deanna Cera, “The Jeweles of Miriam Haskell”, the metal perforated back and cupped glass beads in item #1 are typical of early unsigned construction.

I believe Item #3 is Haskell. They have that soft antique gold finish that is characteristic of Haskell. The beads should be fastened to the wire grate. I have seen that spring on the clips in other Haskell pieces illustrated in Cera’s book mentioned above.

I do not know about Item #2.
