The other day we discovered a neat looking fob with an old french quote “honi soit qui mal y pense” enscribed.

Upon some research we discovered that it translated into “shame upon him who thinks evil of it”. Interestingly enough this quote is for the Royal Order of the Garter, one of the oldest orders of knighthood in Britain dateing from 1348. This exclusive order had prestigious membership including Queen Victoria. Depicted below is the queen wearing the garter on her arm starting a new fashion trend.

Here is an example of a victorian over the sleeve bracelet that dates back from 1878.

You can play into this old english trend right now! Check out the variety of military and royal inspired jewelry on out site.
This look is perfect for the winter. Jewelry with emblems, crests, and maltese crosses go perfect with the regal look that is in for the winter season. Large rhinestones with deep jewel tones make any outfit look richer. Chunky gold chains go well with the cozy winter knits. Don’t miss out on the trend!
