With the coming of the warm season, as flowers bloom and yard becomes greener, the trend in jewelry has been takeing a similar turn. Organic style is all the rage. Jewelry made from natural materials like wood, bamboo, feathers, shells, and snakeskin is a big hit. Also comes the return of natural stones as opposed to pristine cut rhinestones in jewelry featuring big chunks of jade, turquoise, amber, and ivory.

All of this organic materials makes starking and interesting contrast to cool metels. Metal cuffs trimmed with animal skin or fur and chains with wood and shell baubles is prime. The metal of the season is yet again gold. With gold, the bigger and more of it you have, the better. The trend is to stack bracelets, pile on the rings, and layer the chains. Decadence and luxury in the amount of jewelry one wears is to balance off the over the top style we saw on the spring runways with platforms, bubble hems, and puffed sleeves.

If the natural material is not for you, naturesque themes are in as well. Enamel motifs on bracelets, pendants, and rings are showing up everywhere depicting gardenesque scenes with flora and fauna. Pendants and charms of fruit, insects, and birds are also very popular. For a more subtle look, just pops of natural colors in your jewelry will suffice like coral, rose, jade, green, and turquoise blue.

If all the nature stuff isn’t for you and the thought of the outdoors makes your skin burn and nose itchy you could head in the complete opposite direction. In the Marc Jacobs Spring show especially giant chunky pops of bright color in man made materials like plastic is fun for the warm season. Contrasting colors like black and white, blue and orange, purple and yellow are key for a shocking but refreshing look. Still decadance and over the top but with bright colors and shocking patterns.
